I graduated from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in 1998 with a degree in architecture. Between 1999 and 2012, I worked as an interior designer at the State Monument Restoration and Conservation Center (later KÖSZ and NÖK), where I had the opportunity to work on both interior design and architectural tasks. This experience exposed me to various levels of monument reconstruction, from creating faithful replicas to introducing new elements into historic environments. In 2005, I acquired professional qualifications as a leading interior designer and architect.
As an interior designer, I increasingly encountered the need for reconstructing period interiors. However, there was often a lack of scientific studies and usable literature on Hungarian furniture history and the structural principles of "interior design history" to support the development of these plans. To fill this gap, I initiated active research, initially in collaboration with archaeologist-art historians and later independently. To pursue this at a higher level, I enrolled in the DLA program at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in 2005, specializing in the Theory of Arts and Crafts. I defended my doctoral dissertation in May 2012 with cum laude honors. The title of my dissertation is "The Development of Furniture Making and Use in Hungary in the 15th-17th Centuries." In addition to late medieval and early Renaissance interiors, I have since been working on the life histories of various periods and their presentation.
Alongside my office work, I have also undertaken various commissions: two of my designs for family homes have been realized, and a local parish has asked me to renovate their church interior. My work is complemented by architectural reconstructions, and more recently I have been using my knowledge of interior history to create virtual reconstructions and design exhibitions. In the latter, reaching the younger generation and utilizing the latest exhibition trends is the biggest challenge for me, and I enjoy exploring new and timeless opportunities in the field of museology.
In addition to my work as a monument designer, the demand for exhibition design has become increasingly important. I can participate in this not only as a designer but also as a creative professional and researcher, fulfilling content development tasks at a high level, as confirmed by feedback and awards.
Since 2016, I have been a guest lecturer at the Department of Building Design at the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Transportation at the University of Széchenyi István in Győr, alongside Csaba Jakab DLA. In 2017, I participated in the development of the curriculum for the interior design course planned for the Faculty of Arts, and I am continuously developing the Interior Design 1-2-3 course at the Department of Building Design.
